The book Jim and Me is about a boy named Joe Stoshack. He can travel back in time using baseball cards. He and a kid named Bobby Fuller want to travel back in time to meet Jim Thorpe. They want to go back in time to 1912 and prevent his olympic medals from getting taken away from him. They go back in time and meet him, but learn you can't change history.
One aspect of the book i love the most his how the author uses real details and photgraphs from the year the characters travel to. For example, every chapter there is at least one photograph that was really taken in that time period. It makes you feel like you are really there. There are also a lot of details from the time period they travel to. For example, the people are wearing the styles of clothing they really wore in 1912. They also talk the same way.
Another aspect i love about the book is how the characters change dramatically from the beginnig of the book to the end of the book. For example, at the beginning of the book Joe Stoshack and Bobby Fuller hated each other. But after Stosh did Bobby Fuller a favor by taking him back in time with him, they started to hang out a little and get to know each other. By the end of the book they were good friends and no longer hated each other.
